PLC Engineer

As part of the Industrial X-Ray Systems (IXS) division, our Comet Yxlon brand delivers advanced industrial X-ray and CT solutions for reliable non-destructive testing, analysis and quality assurance in semiconductor, electronics, automotive and other high-tech industries.

What you will do:

• Collaboration with cross-functional teams in an international environment to analyze and refine customer requirements for software development for our systems; working in an agile international environment using sprints, reviews, and releases
• Design, specification, and programming of PLC (Programmable Logical Controller) software and hardware; parameterization and tuning of control and drive systems
• Programming and troubleshooting of safety technology according to IEC 61131-3; creating development documentation
• Simulating planned automation solutions, including offline programming; contributing to the maintenance/expansion of our automated test framework
• Managing and versioning source code organization using git; assisting in the commissioning of complex systems at customer sites
• Continuous maintenance of PLC (Programmable Logical Controller) software in the field, quality assurance, and cost reduction; supporting our service organization in 3rd level service support/bug tracking

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical or Software Engineering
• Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience
• Proven experience in design, specification and programming of PLC (Programmable Logical Controller) software and hardware
• Strong understanding and practical application of Agile software development methodologies
• Experience with SECS/GEM (SEMI Equipment Communications Standard / Generic Equipment Model) is considered an advantage.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English, both written and spoken
• Domestic and international travel of up to 40% is required for this role, including a three-month onboarding period in Germany
