Logistics Coordinator

In the Industrial X-Ray Modules division, we provide safer, more economical and breakthrough solutions for non-destructive testing and security applications through the pioneering development of intelligent industrial X-ray technologies.
Summary:
The Logistics Coordinator reports to the Operations Manager and is responsible for the US-based logistics activities of the Industrial X-ray Modules and Systems business contributing at a fundamental level to ensuring a safer and more secure world. This position requires strong attention to detail, collaboration, and communication with logistics service providers and other entities involved with shipment of product local and international.
What will you do?
- Manage International shipments and coordinate custom clearance for all shipments – including assuring BOL’s and ISF’s are received on time.
- Prepare commercial invoices and send all paperwork and requests to broker.
- Receive inventory into SAP system.
- Track, trace and update the status of incoming and outgoing freight.
- Promptly unload deliveries and sort / stack materials in the proper locations.
- Maintain accurate logs and daily movement of product orders scanning inventory and counting accurately.
- Provide additional backup support for adjacent departments involved in shipping activities including order management, accounting, service / repair, and customer service.
- Adhere to compliance with occupational health and safety.
- Captures KPI’s and sends reports to Switzerland.
- Process Orders in SAP with regular updating of workflow in the CRM tool.
- Respond to basic questions regarding order status, price, and availability, tracking information, order confirmation/invoice reprints, etc.
- Follows SOPs to ensure order, repair, and service adherence to SOX requirements.
- Clears shipments with all carriers and manages freight costs relative to budget.
- Resolve all damages to shipments during transit.
- Resolve all international shipment issues.
- Review HTS codes and updates with Compliance manager.
- Familiar with ITAR regulations and requirements dangerous goods packaging and shipment methods.
- Lead operational initiatives to ensure shipping accuracy goals are met.
- Manage Inventory and execute end of year physical inventory.
- Package materials properly for shipment.
Who are we looking for?
- Excellent interpersonal skills and team player capabilities across multiple departments within COMET IXM’s evolving, fast-paced environment. Ability to build and sustain collaborative working relationships.
- Ability to read company related technical and non-technical documents and materials and effectively utilize the information.
- Energetic, motivated self-starter with proven logistics and inventory track record within a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- International shipments and Dangerous Goods shipment experience preferred.
- Time- oriented and highly organized individual, strong attention to detail skills.
- Experience and proficiency with SAP, Microsoft applications and keyboard skills. Experience with SFDC is a plus.
- X-ray or manufacturing industry experience a plus.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills to include superior telephone etiquette and the ability to effectively work with internal and external customers, managers and staff.
- Excellent data entry skills to quickly and accurately review and input data.
- Ability to effectively prioritize workload and multitask in a fast paced, call center environment required.
The target salary range for this job is approximately $27 to $30 per hour.
