Sr. RF Engineering Technician

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

 

What will you do?

  • As part of Comet’s rapidly growing Product Development Team, build, set up, calibrate, maintain, and operate test stations used for testing and design validation of High-Power RF Matching Systems and related modules, such as sensors and electromechanical control systems.
  • Calibrate and test new match prototypes to customer specifications, in close collaboration with the R&D design engineers.
  • Execute and troubleshoot automated tests for advanced product performance characterization and Design Validation Testing (DVT) of RF Matching Networks.
  • Work with R&D Design Engineers to test performance characteristics, specifications, and associated test procedures for new RF systems and modules, document the results.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of our test methods and processes.

 

Who are we looking for?

  • Associate's degree in Electronics or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience as an Engineering Technician in product development and/or design validation
  • Minimum of 5 years working with RF systems and modules, kW power level experience preferred.
  • Solid understanding and hands-on experience with the set-up and operation of complex RF test equipment, including VNA, power meters, spectrum analyzers, RF power generators, oscilloscopes.
  • Basic understanding of analog electronic components and analog circuit operation required.
  • Experience with scripting tools to automate design validation tests (LabView /Python) is a strong plus.
  • Curious and methodical.
  • Good analytical skills, and ability to diagnose electrical system problems
  • Must be able to speak and write English proficiently.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a highly interactive team environment
  • Must be able to multitask and work effectively in a fast paced environment

 

The target salary range for this job is approximately  $110,000 to $119,000 annually.
