To complement our team, we are looking for a customer- and team-oriented individual for our Plasma Control Technologies division at the San Jose site as a

 

NPI Test Engineer

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

 

What will you do?

  • Create product test procedures. Review, and approve test plans, test scripts, test fixtures, test station designs, and validation documents.
  • Research, specify, design, and implement automated test solutions for New Product Introduction (NPI) in a manufacturing environment.
  • Work with design engineering and assist in transition of design prototypes into cost efficient and high-volume products.
  • Coordinate with R&D new product development groups to develop manufacturing test strategies.
  • Analyze and recommend corrective actions for quality issues related to manufacturing tests.
  • Train production operators in function and maintenance of test infrastructure and test processes.
  • Perform test data analysis for new products to eliminate variation in production tests between each site / or Test fixtures
  • Continuously identify, measure, and improve test processes.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Manage Test engineering project schedules

 

Who are we looking for?

  • Maintaining and upgrading of existing test-fixtures/systems and production testing software.
  • Support of Design automation test fixtures and related software/firmware for high power RF electro-mechanical devices (RF matching networks)
  • Work with design engineering teams to define test strategies that comply with corporate/customer goals!
  • Leads test fixture equipment maintenance program and coordinates efforts accordingly.
  • Lead Loadsim maintenance program from mechanical & electrical integrity and business continuity point of view.
  • Leads team in the use of DFx principles to reduce costs & reduce test time and improve delivered quality.
  • Determines root cause and corrective action analysis for issues that arise during design and deployment of test fixtures and provides failure analysis report as required.
  • Evaluates work methods, procedures, and policies.  Develops and maintains new business processes; edits as necessary to ensure current practices are documented.  
  • Mentor and train test technicians.
  • Performs Process Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis when working with New Product Development
  • Support other locations in test procedures und fixtures of transferred products.
  • Lead in the evaluation of Test fixture or product through gathering statistical data and presenting to internal design review meetings.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by establishing and enforcing standards and procedures and by complying with legal regulations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Enjoys working with cross functional teams.
  • Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented mind-set, diligent and accurate
  • Self-motivated and flexible individual able to function in a high energy, fast paced team environment with minimal direction.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS Degree in Electrical, electronic or RF Engineering.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience working with RF systems with > 1 kW at 350 kHz to 200 MHz.
  • Previous experience working with RF Matching Network Networks and Generators.
  • Proven working knowledge of the proper use and handling of test instruments including RF Network Analyzers, RF Impedance Analyzers, RF Power meters, Spectrum Analyzers, Oscilloscopes, high voltage probes, LCR bridges, RF calibration kits, DVMs, Function Generators, Capacitance, and Inductance meters, etc.
  • Working knowledge of JMP, Minitab or other statistical analytics tool
  • Confluence, Jira, and SAP experience good to have.
  • Have 5S, LEAN Manufacturing experience.

 

The target salary range for this job is approximately $115K- $120K/ yr.
