Strategic Indirect Buyer

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

What you will do:

• Execute sourcing activities for Comet Penang. Participate the development & execution of sourcing strategies.
• Evaluate current and new supplier selections through supplier evaluation activities. Negotiate price and terms with suppliers to meet requestor needs, delivery, and cost objectives.
• Manage purchase contracts and assure compliant acquisition of material or service that meet applicable company and government regulations. Manage vendor commercial engagements, contract preparation, execution, and vendor setup.
• Effectively communicates and maintains the highest degree of relationship between company and all level of supplier personnel. PO/Invoice management assistance. Backup replacement for Global Indirect Asia.
• Support supplier improvement activities and performance monitoring, strategic supplies establishment for Comet Penang and global strategic purchasing projects.

What you bring:

• Commercial or technical training, ideally supplemented by further training in the field of purchasing or logistics.
• At least 5 years’ experience in purchasing, ideally in an industrial environment or in a comparable position
• Good knowledge of MS-Office and SAP
• Fluent in written and spoken English, Mandarin (to deal with Mandarin speaking suppliers) and, Malay.
