Purchasing Manager

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

 

Main Tasks and Targets

  • Lead sourcing and purchasing activities for all commodities in alignment with global commodity strategies.
  • Manage suppliers to ensure the best TCO while ensuring an uninterrupted chain of supply to cope with production planning.
  • Responsible for the implementation of all policies, practices, procedures and contracts pertaining to Procurement/Purchasing. 
  • Identify, establish and develop vendor relationships to foster collaboration and partnership.
  • Supervises the issuance of purchase orders, ensuring compliance with specifications, prices, terms and conditions, business principals, laws and regulations.

 

Tasks/Responsibility

  • Effectively manage suppliers, performing new suppliers’ evaluation and decision process (Total Cost of Ownership concept-TOCO), applying the concept of preferred supplier and second source, to ensure optimal cost, quality and service performance.
  • Lead and assess the performance of the Procurement team by using agreed-upon Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), such as supplier on-time delivery (OTD), savings opportunities Vs cost reduction targets, and average of payment terms, with a focus on working capital improvement and profitability maximization.
  • Lead New project Sourcing and BOM costing and ensure MCOGS meet target, Manage FAI PO and ensure material availability to meet project timeline.
  • Develop make or buy strategies for new products with support of engineering organization in line with global commodity strategies.
  • Develop a collaborative relationship with key vendors, including objectives, measures and processes that will reduce lead times and costs while ensuring product and service quality such as vendor managed inventories (VMI), electronic data transfer or Internet ordering.
  • Manage all purchase orders, including the process of placement, expediting, rescheduling and cancellation as required, and keep Production Depts and other stakeholders informed about lead times and order status.
  • Conduct effective business reviews with strategic suppliers.
  • Ensure the materials life cycle is well managed and highlighted to prevent the short and long-term material shortage caused by material obsolescence.
  • Responsible for managing regional team, design and executing a robust development plan while managing the talent pipeline.

 

Working Experince / Technical Skills / Know How

  •  
  • Bachelor in Engineering or Supply Chain. MBA is a plus.
  • 5+ years managerial experience in procurement/purchasing, materials management and supply chain.
  • Experience detecting and solving problems by analyzing information, identifying the underlying principles, facts, reasons, and causal relationships, and developing and implementing a strategy to solve the problem.
  • Strong vendor negotiation skills and contract management.
  • Experienced with SAP system and office automation software.
  • Must be able to work in an international fast-paced business environment with dynamic priorities and demands.
  • Have experience to initiate and execute actions to achieve the set KPI goals
  • Proven people management experience.
  • English fluency is a must.
