Manufacturing Engineer

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

 

What you will do:

 

    • Responsible to monitor, verify and maintain BOMs (Bill of Materials) in the SAP system. Improve NPI product transition in terms of time and efficiency by delivering each task on the NPI check list i.e. BOM challenges/Proto build/OMS/PFMEA/etc.
    • Responsible to create assembly and test instructions (OMS) to support NPI and train production personnel. Responsible in designing and development of any manufacturing tools/fixtures, system, and automation improvement implementation.
    • Assists in capacity and resource planning for the production lines. Participate in line setup and cycle time reduction activities through Kaizen projects. Actively participate in the transfer of products between COMET’s Production facilities throughout all of COMET’s facility around the world.
    • Effectively utilize lean manufacturing tools for continuous improvement of the flow of material and information in the factory including factory layouts, visual management, 5S, JIT, Kanban.
    • Assist in conducting training as and when the need arises and engaging all employees in the site to drive Kaizen. Responsible in conducting failure analysis (RCCA), troubleshoot Design for Manufacturability (DFM), create failure reports, and implement solutions to the root cause. Other duties as assigned by Management. Travel may be required.

 

 

What you bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering/Mechanical Engineering/Mechatronics or its equivalent with minimum 3 years of relevant experience as Manufacturing/Mechanical Design Engineer and Mechanical Design with NPI experience preferred.
  • Demonstrates hands-on experience and capability to drive Lean- Six Sigma initiative in factory environment in electronics manufacturing. Must have leadership, coaching and mentoring skills. Is open to flexible hours requiring occasional evening and weekend work.
  • Excellent verbal/written communication skills and possess a “can-do” with quality first attitude and take “ownership” over LEAN initiatives. Knowledgeable in SPC, JMP and Minitab, Solidworks and Autocad.
  • Experience in High Level Assembly (HLA) and Smartorque are highly desirable. Basic experience in SAP system will be an added advantage
  • Current industry: Semiconductor, HLA (Plexus, Jabil, Benchmark, Penta, Honeywell, AE or similar). Working knowledge of SAP and Project management tools such JIRA are desirable. Experience with Semiconductor equipment manufacturing is a must
