To complement our team, we are looking for a customer- and team-oriented individual for our Plasma Control Technologies division at the Penang site as a

 

Global Commodity Manager (Mechanical)

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

 

What you will do:

  • Lead and manage global commodity strategies, development, execution and sourcing decision with favorable prices and terms of purchase. Maintain stakeholder communication and alignment on commodity strategies. Responsible for commodity cost model, RFQ, price setting and commercial contract.
  • Build and manage overall supplier relationships with focus on supply risk management, contract risk management and cost management, improvements through Score Card cadence, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Serve as key senior point of contact and point of escalation to resolve supplier disputes and any commodity-related issues.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of sourcing commodity and industry. Study market trends and identify potential risks when sourcing and procuring commodities.
  • Engage Engineering and Supplier for Value Analysis Value Engineering (VAVE). Ensure supply chain readiness for NPI/product transfer at R&D or receiving site.

 

What you bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, economics, or a similar field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in commodity management, including price negotiation, basic finance, tools and supplier development
  • Strong business acumen and excellent knowledge of commodity markets.
  • Experience in mechanical part manufacturing, preferably sheet metals, wire harness, cable assembly process.
  • Good negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively with vendors and suppliers.
