EHS Manager

In the Group Funtions, we support the market-oriented divisions with central services. We work together today on the solutions for tomorrow - in close cooperation with our customers and always with high quality standards.
What you will do
- Lead and execute the site-wide EHS strategy for Comet Technologies Malaysia, ensuring compliance with Malaysian statutory requirements, Comet Global EHS standards, and ISO 45001/ISO 14001.
- Drive EHS risk management across manufacturing, engineering, R&D, facilities, construction, and contractor activities, including HIRARC, JSA, chemical risk assessments, and emergency preparedness.
- Lead regulatory compliance, audits, inspections, and certification activities, acting as the key liaison with DOSH, DOE, BOMBA, and other relevant authorities.
- Lead and develop the Malaysia EHS team, fostering a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, training, safety campaigns, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Monitor and improve EHS and sustainability performance, including safety KPIs, incident investigations, waste management, energy and water consumption, and carbon reduction, while providing regular reports to Site Leadership and Global EHS Management.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Environmental Engineering, Engineering, or a related discipline; a Master’s degree in OSH, Environmental Management, Engineering, or Business Administration is preferred.
- Minimum 12 years of EHS experience, including at least 5 years in an EHS leadership or managerial role, preferably within a multinational manufacturing environment.
- Mandatory DOSH-registered Safety & Health Officer (Green Book Holder), with ISO 45001 Lead Auditor certification; ISO 14001 Internal/Lead Auditor certification is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of Malaysian occupational safety, environmental, and fire safety legislation, with hands-on experience in regulatory compliance, contractor safety, emergency response, and incident investigation.
- Proven experience in semiconductor, electronics, medical device, or high-technology manufacturing, with strong leadership, stakeholder management, analytical, and continuous improvement capabilities; greenfield manufacturing experience is an advantage.
