Senior Data Engineer 80-100% (m/f/d)

In the Group Funtions, we support the market-oriented divisions with central services. We work together today on the solutions for tomorrow - in close cooperation with our customers and always with high quality standards.

What you will do:

• Lead the design, development, and optimization of scalable data pipelines that support diverse business needs across the organization
• Ensure seamless integration of data from various sources, including MES, CRM, ERP, PLM and others, into a unified data ecosystem, enabling reporting, advanced analytics and AI
• Establish and enforce data quality standards and governance protocols to ensure our data are fit for purpose
• Mentor and coach junior data engineers, both internally and from partner organizations, fostering a collaborative and knowledge-sharing environment
• Stay abreast of the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and drive continuous improvement and apply change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new data products and processes across the organization

What you bring: 

• Master’s degree or PhD in Mathematics, Data Science, Statistics, Machine Learning, Physics, Operation Research, Computer Science or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering, with a proven track record of successful implementation of data pipelines that have delivered quantifiable business value
• Proficiency in data engineering and integration tools and frameworks (e.g. dbt, Airflow, Apache Spark, Kafka, Data Factory, Boomi)
• Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, R, Java or Scala
• Proven experience with versioning and deployment tools and with “Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery” (CI/CD) pipelines (e.g. Git, GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins).
• Expert knowledge of agile development methods (DevOps).
• Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a team of data engineers, with experience in managing cross-functional teams or projects
• Fluent in English, both verbally and written as well as good verbal skills in German (B2)
