To complement our team, we are looking for a customer- and teamoriented individual for our division Plasma Control Technologies at the Flamatt site as a

 

R&D Intern (6 months)

We develop and produce innovative high-tech components and systems based on X-ray and radio-frequency technology. Our developments make an important contribution to safer, more efficient and more sustainable production, mobility and communication. 

 

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

 

The planned start date is January 2026 – or by mutual agreement. 

 

What you will do:

  • Employ Comet's power delivery systems in RF Plasma chamber setups
  • Design and implement systematic, automated characterization and measurement campaigns
  • Dive into the acquired data by providing comprehensive data analysis and reporting
  • Your main project will be to commission an RF plasma chamber setup and run comprehensive parameter scans (power levels, RF frequencies, gas flows, etc.) to evaluate key metrics such as repeatability and long-term stability

What you bring:  

  • You are a Master’s student in physics or engineering, currently in at least your first year
  • You have hands-on experience with measurement setups, laboratory environments, or experimental physics
  • You have solid experience in Python and data analysis
  • You enjoy practical lab work and working with scientific instrumentation
  • You have not yet completed your Master’s thesis
