We develop and produce innovative high-tech components and systems based on X-ray and radio-frequency technology. Our developments make an important contribution to safer, more efficient and more sustainable production, mobility and communication. 

In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets.

What you will do:

• Build the technology management framework for Comet PCT, establishing a scalable process to identify, prioritize, and mature innovations
• Define and execute the division wide technology roadmap in partnership with global R&D sites and the CTO office, turning long term trends into clear strategic and investment priorities
• Lead cross product technology development programs, ensuring emerging tech aligns with customer roadmaps and delivers differentiated market solutions
• Own and expand the IP portfolio – drive invention disclosures, manage freedom to operate analyses, and coordinate with patent attorneys and offices to file, and maintain patents across the division
• Cultivate a high-quality external innovation ecosystem (industry partners, universities, tech networks) to accelerate development and complement internal capabilities

What you bring:

• Advanced degree in electrical engineering, physics, or a related discipline, providing the depth to act as a recognized technical authority, particularly in RF technology and embedded systems
• ~10 years of experience in industrial technology development with a strong record of inventing, publishing, and patenting, including hands-on involvement in IP strategy and protection
• Proven ability to assess technology and market developments and translate them into concrete roadmaps, priorities, and strategic decisions at senior stakeholder level
• Strong cross-functional leadership skills, with experience moderating expert discussions and driving complex, multi-site initiatives without formal line authority
• Fluent in English; German is a strong advantage for effective collaboration within the organization and the broader innovation ecosystem
