Development Engineer Microfocus X-Ray Tubes (m/f/d) 80-100%

In the Industrial X-Ray Modules division, we provide safer, more economical and breakthrough solutions for non-destructive testing and security applications through the pioneering development of intelligent industrial X-ray technologies.

What you will do: 

• Develop X-Ray tubes, focusing on high-voltage design, electron optics, high-vacuum technology, and cooling systems
• Create and design conceptual models through simulations
• Procure prototypes, plan and conduct experiments to validate designs
• Contribute to the development and validation of micro- and nanofocus modules
• Prepare and create industrialization documents and hand over developed products and components to series production
• Lead sub-projects and independently conduct design studies

What you bring:  

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering (FH/ETH) or applied Experimental Physics
• Experience with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks) and a solid understanding of manufacturing technology
• Knowledge of FEM simulations, ideally with COMSOL Multiphysics
• Experience in X-Ray physics, high-voltage technology, and vacuum technology, as well as in the operation and application of microfocus tubes, is advantageous
• Excellent German and English skills, both written and spoken
