In the Plasma Control Technologies (PCT) division, we manufacture specialized components that are required for the precise control of plasma processes and are used in the production of memory chips or touch screens for sensors, smartphones or tablets. At the German PCT site, the expertise is mainly in the field of RF generators.
Job Summary: As a Field Applications Engineer (FAE), you will leverage your expertise in high-frequency RF systems to support the integration, optimization, and troubleshooting of RF Matching Networks, RF Generators, and related RF subsystems in semiconductor manufacturing. You will work closely with customers, R&D, and field teams to ensure seamless adoption of our products in plasma processing applications. This role specifically requires expertise in RF power delivery and impedance matching at MHz frequencies, which are critical for plasma processing applications.
This is what you will do:
- Collaborate with internal and external customers to integrate high-frequency RF subsystems to semiconductor manufacturing tools
- Analyze and optimize high-frequency RF system performance, ensuring stable impedance matching and efficient power transfer
- Perform detailed RF system characterization, impedance matching and power delivery optimization
- Support pre-sales and post-sales activities, including technical presentations, training and high-frequency RF troubleshooting
- Conduct high-frequency lab testing and troubleshooting, utilizing advanced RF instrumentation (VNA, spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes...)
- Work closely with R&D to provide customer feedback for product enhancements
- Develop technical documentation, applications notes and training materials
- Provide on-site and remote customer support as needed
What you bring:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, RF Engineering or related field
- 2 years+ of experience in RF applications, semiconductor equipement or related industry
- Hands-on-experience with RF Matching Networks, RF Generators and impedance matching at high frequencies (MHz range)
- Good understanding of Smith charts, S-parameters and RF circuit design
- Willingness to travel (domestic & international) as required
- Fluent English, both written and spoken. German is a plus
- High customer orientation, strong communication skills, team player mentality
- Structured and independant working style with a hands-on approach
- Strong organizational skills, problem-solving ability and analytical thinking
